QNAP Finder
The QNAP Finder is a value-added utility developed to help you quickly search all QNAP NVR (Network Video Recorder) and all major brands of IP-based cameras and network video servers, e.g. Axis, Panasonic, Canon, Arecont, Sanyo, Mobotix, and IQeye.

QNAP Finder supports the following functions

Instant searching of QNAP NVR and IP cameras
QNAP Finder can be used to search all QNAP NVR as well as network cameras (support Axis, Sony, Panasonic, Canon, Arecont, Sanyo, Mobotix & IQeye, etc.) in the same subnet. You can search the IP address of the network cameras and add them to the NVR.
Network cameras searching
Step 1. Click "Tools" > "Search Network Camera".

Step 2. QNAP Finder will search all supported network cameras.

Various ways of data connection (HTTP, SMB & FTP)
You can use the IE browser (HTTP), My Network Places (SMB), or FTP to access the server and the recording data.
HTTP
Step 1. Click "Connect" > "Open in Web Browser".

Step 2. Enter the user name and password to login.
Step 3. The monitoring page is shown. You can configure the server settings by the IE browser.
SMB
Step 1. Click "Connect" > "Open in File Explorer".

Step 2. Enter the user name and password to login.
Step 3. You can access the recording data by samba.

FTP
Step 1. Click "Connect" > "Connect via FTP".

Step 2. Enter the user name and password.
Step 3. You can access the recording data via FTP.

Powerful server settings
You can use QNAP Finder to configure basic server settings, run quick configuration, and open administration page.
- Server Configuration
Step 1. Click "Settings" > "Server Configuration".

Step 2. Enter the administrator name and password.
Default administrator name: administrator
Password: admin
Step 3. Configure the server name, time, and IP address of the NVR.

- Run Quick Configuration Wizard
Step 1. Click "Settings" > "Open Administration Web Page".

Step 2. Enter the administrator name and password.
Default administrator name: administrator
Password: admin
Step 3. The Quick Configuration Wizard will be shown. Click "Next" to continue.

Note: Make sure all your network cameras are connected to the network.
(1) Enter the server name.

(2) Change the administrator password.

(3) Adjust the system time.

(4) Configure the network settings.

(5) Initialize the disk volume.

(6) Configure the camera settings.

(7) Confirm the changes.

(8) The changes are being applied.

Step4. After applying the changes, the server will restart. Click "Finish" to exit the wizard.

- Open Administration Web Page
Step 1 Click "Settings" > "Open Administration Web Page".

Step 2. Enter the user name and password.

Step 3. The administration page is shown.

Convenient remote control
You can use the Finder to restart, shut down, or wake up the server remotely.

Easy firmware upgrade (single server/ multiple servers)
To upgrade the NVR firmware by QNAP Finder, please visit the QNAP website and download the latest firmware of the NVR. Read the release notes carefully about the changes to the firmware. Unzip the firmware before upgrading the server.
Step 1. Click "Tools" > "Update Firmware".

Step 2. Enter the administrator name and password.
Default administrator name: administrator
Password: admin
Step 3. You can upgrade the firmware of one to multiple servers simultaneously.

Open QNAP software utilities
QNAP Finder is able to search and open all QNAP utilities installed on the computer including NetBak Replicator, QBack, QGet, VioGate Player, and VioGate Master.

Note: The first time you run QNAP Finder on Windows XP SP2 or above, the following dialog will appear. Click "Unblock" to run the program.
